Entry is now open for the 2011 CIPD People Management Awards. The prestigious awards, which are now in their 16th year, recognise outstanding achievements in people management and development.
This year there are ten categories to choose from: building HR capability, change management, employee engagement, excellence through technology, health and well-being, organisational learning, performance and reward, SME HR initiative of the year, talent attraction and management and the Michael Kelly Outstanding Student Award.
Jackie Orme, CIPD Chief Executive, said: “The CIPD’s People Management Awards have been celebrating the best of HR for 16 years. We’re excited to have the opportunity, with this year’s awards, to give them a platform all of their own at our new London awards night.
“As well as the new, standalone event, we’ve also added four new category awards to celebrate achievements across the full breadth and depth of the modern HR profession. I’d encourage any HR teams who are proud of their achievements over the last year to enter the awards. I and all our judges look forward to sifting through the inspiring, high-quality entries we attract each year, and to having the opportunity to recognise the very best in practice today.”
Alex Wilson, Group HR Director, BT added: “We are delighted to continue our long association with the awards and to be the headline sponsor again. HR more than ever has a pivotal commercial role and the awards are the pinnacle of excellence in our profession and provide inspiration to drive HR capability and impact to ever higher levels.”
Last year saw Nampak Plastics, which manufactures bottles for the food and drink industry, scoop the overall prize after coming out on top in the employee engagement category. Other category winners included DHL Supply Chain, RSA Insurance, Nationwide Building Society and Outward Housing.
The call for entries close on 26 May 2011 with the overall winner and category winners being announced at a black tie dinner on Tuesday 11 October at The Brewery, London.
